So, The Comelec finally sees through the joke that was Eddie Gil’s candidacy for President of this country, and decides to deliver him the ultimate punch line by declaring him as a nuisance candidate and disqualifying him out of the race for the top position in the land. But still, it had to take a petition filed by rival candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva before they were able to come up with that decision.
It was a little disappointing that the Comelec didn’t see that from day one, Gil was making a mockery and a circus out of the entire election process. Or perhaps, they were sticking to Gil’s claim that he will pay the country’s 60 plus Billion Dollar debt out of his own pocket, and on top of that give each and every Filipino citizen 1 Million Pesos should he be fortunate enough to win. Yeah, Right! The man can’t even pay for his hotel and restaurant bills during one of his campaign stops. And you expect him to pay the country’s international debt? using what? Bouncing Checks? Come on!
And thus, the voters are now down to five choices: Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who is seeking to extend her stay in Malacanang for 6 more years; Movie actor Fernando Poe Jr., who is counting on the votes of the ‘Masang Pilipino”; Senator Panfilo Lacson; Senator Raul Roco; and Christian Leader Eddie Villanueva.
It cannot be overstated that our nation’s future will depend heavily on the result of this coming election. So please, I beg you, my beloved countrymen, Vote Wisely!
